ARE EGG NOODLES GLUTEN-FREE

If you’re like me and love making pastas dishes, you might be wondering are egg noodles gluten-free? Have you ever been curious about how to use egg noodles? Follow along as we discuss what egg noodles are, what brands are gluten-free, and why you should add egg noodle recipes to your favorites list.

Ingredients

  • 1 4 oz Container Cubed Pancetta
  • 14 ounce Container of Mascarpone Cheese-if you cannot find a 4 ounce container, use half of an 8 ounce container and save the rest.
  • 6 Tablespoons of Fresh Minced Parsley
  • 19 oz Box GF Egg Tagliatelle Pasta
  • Salt and Pepper
  • 4 Tbsp Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 2 Tbsp Salt for Pasta Water
  • Reserve a little of the boiled pasta water to thin out mascarpone cheese.

Instructions

  • In a non stick skillet- turn on a non stick pan to medium heat.
  • Add the pancetta and let it crisp up nicely-about 10 minutes or so. You do not need to add any olive oil for the pancetta.
  • In a pasta pot, fill with warm water and let it come to a boil.
  • Once boiling, season well with salt and add the egg noodles and cook to al dente. These noodles cook a couple minutes earlier than the box says, so keep that in mind. Tip- set aside a little of the pasta water to use in case you need to thin out the mascarpone cheese.
  • Once cooked, remove and set aside.
  • In a bowl, add the pasta.
  • Add half the container of the mascarpone cheese and stir to combine. If too thick, add a little bit of pasta water to the bowl to thin the mascarpone cheese out.
  • Add the pancetta, fresh parsley and salt and pepper.
  • Stir to combine and serve right away. This dish does best when served right away.

Notes

  • Fresh parsley is best for this recipe.
  • Pancetta does provide salt so do not overly season your pasta with salt.
  • Do not rinse your pasta after it has been cooked.  
  • Save a little of the hot pasta water to thin the cheese mixture out.
