Banana split fluff with condensed milk is everything you love in a banana split, but in a fluff salad. This dessert is a crowd pleaser for sure. If you haven’t tried this recipe, please try it. Bring a bowl of this easy dessert to your next picnic, and watch everyone devour this simple, yet delicious dessert.
My banana split fluff with condensed milk dessert is a lighter, fluffier, mousse-like recipe that everyone will love. This is my most requested dessert to bring to picnics all summer long.
WHAT IS BANANA SPLIT FUFF?
Typically, a fluff recipe has a pudding base with whipped topping to create a lighter and “fluffier” texture in dessert. While this recipe does not have instant pudding, it does have sweetened condensed milk. This literally takes about 10 minutes to come together.
WHAT’S IN A BANANA SPLIT?
- Chocolate ice cream topped with chocolate syrup
- Vanilla ice cream topped crushed sweetened pineapple
- Strawberry Ice Cream topped with strawberry sauce
- Whipped cream
- One banana
- Cherries
- Peanuts or Walnuts
- Whipped Cream
- Cherry
A traditional banana split starts off with one banana at the base. The ice cream flavors consists of vanilla, chocolate and strawberry. For the toppings, hot fudge, fresh strawberry sauce, crushed pineapple and walnuts are usually used. The top is finished off with whipped cream and a cherry.
IS THIS A NO BAKE RECIPE?
You bet it is. My banana split fluff with condensed milk is a no bake dessert, and probably the easiest dessert to make.
CAN I MAKE THIS AHEAD OF TIME?
You can definitely make this the day before, but I do find that this is best served the day you make it.
TIPS AND TRICKS
- Let the cool whip sit out of freezer for at least two hours to thaw before using.
- I recommend chilling the crushed pineapple, sweetened condensed milk and the cherry pie filling. I put these ingredients in the fridge the night before.
- After assembling, cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour before serving.
- When serving, drizzle with chocolate syrup, add your walnuts and top with a cherry if desired.
- For my recipe, I have left out the walnuts, cherry and chocolate sauce, but do make it often with these additional ingredients.
- Folks will think you spent hours making this recipe, but it only takes 10 minutes.
- You can use your hand mixer or spatula to combine the whipped cream and condensed milk. It does take quite a bit of gentle folding to get these two ingredients to be fully combined.
HOW TO SERVE?
When going to a picnic or barbecue, I make it in a big bowl and bring a big spoon to serve. But when I’m serving this at home, I like to serve it in individual bowls. I honestly recommend doubling this recipe- it’s that’s good! This banana split fluff recipe is so good and addicting, you will want to have more and more.
This summer, why not bring a couple desserts to your next potluck or picnic. Try my Blueberry Cobbler. It’s super easy, can be made ahead and tastes amazing. This recipe is my most popular on my blog.
